1/09 - Just back from a quick 3-nite stay at Cancun Palace. My husband and I absolutely loved it. The service was exceptional everywhere! Room service was great. Our room was very nice but the bed was kind of hard and had the humps in it from being old. It wasn't a pillow-top like they talk about. The food was okay, nothing great. The weather was great and the ocean and pool were very warm. The ATM had American money which was nice. We had a very relaxing, long weekend and plan to do it again soon! CP - MI

1/09 - I enjoyed the Cancun Palace. Not only was the food great, the beach was one of the best in Cancun. You can't beat going on an all inclusive vacation having all your drinks and food covered. It makes a trip much more enjoyable. There was always something to do at the Palace and they offered great excursions. We went snorkeling which is something you should not miss. The night life was good. You could either stay at the Palace which had entertainment every night or get a bus or cab and go to the clubs downtown. I can't wait to go back! Jerry, IL

12/08 - My husband I recently stayed at the Cancun Palace for three nights. I’ve been traveling to Cancun for 20 years and have to say that there are better all inclusive resorts for the price you pay to stay at the Cancun Palace, but it depends on what’s important to you. The rooms are very nice and the hotel itself is very clean and attractive. The beds are a bit stiff, but the pillows and comforter are soft and cozy. On the negative side, the food is mediocre, even for all inclusive food, the beach is almost nonexistent and it’s on the stretch of the peninsula where the surf is usually rougher. There's no food options for late nite dining and room service took 2 hours to arrive one night. The pool was nice, but you do have to save chairs early in the a.m. (but this is something we’re accustomed to at most resorts). It’s a $10 cab ride down to where Hard Rock and most of the shopping centers are or it’s a quick walk down to the bus stop. Overall it was a good experience, but it wasn’t great. Jill, Iowa

11/08 - We absolutely loved Cancun Palace! My husband and I traveled with 2 other couples in November. At first I was disappointed because our room was on the 2nd floor, but our location ended up being perfect. We had a great view of the pool and ocean. We never had to take the elevator and the pool was very easy to access from our location. The maids cleaned our rooms twice a day and they never bothered any of my stuff. The bathrooms had Biosilk shampoo and conditioner. The showers are huge and soooo nice!!!! I was expecting the food to be much like cruise food, but I was wrong. The food was very good. Every night we would go to the Japanese restaurant and get a to go box of sushi then take it to the grilled steak buffet by the pool. The steaks were ribeye and NY strip and they were yummy! The Mexican restaurant was just ok. They didn't have chimichangas or the things you see in an American Mexican restaurant. The beer on tap was Dos Equis XX. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was the bar. It had lots of teenagers and the lights are way to bright for a bar scene. Most nights we just sat in the cabanas outside the bar and hung out with our friends. I would reccommend this hotel because there are many included excursions which other hotels do not offer. We went to the sales presentation for one hour and said "no" to joining the palace memberships, but it was totally worth the $200 spa gift certificate and 2 free t-shirts. The service was WONDERFUL! We went bar hopping with the hotel one night and that is the way to go. It's $65 a person but that was to 3 bars and all drinks included. We went to Congo's, Senor Frogs, and The City. Another night we went on our own and it was hard to find seats. You can't sit near the dance floor unless you go with the hotel. Bars were very safe. Lots of security and police outside. These were some serious clubs!!! We had loads of fun. Eat, Sleep, Drink and just enjoy paradise! Rachel, Chicago

10/08 - Place is beautiful and looks just like the pictures. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. Very clean. Went there for a week and there were not a lot of people at all which was nice because you can hear everything that is going on in the hallways. Food was good for the most part. The Japanese restaurant was by far the best out of all of them. Drinks were OK, they make them a little weak but the bartender will perk them right up if you ask. We met some great people and had a great time! The first vacation I truly didn't want to end! Looking forward to going back to Cancun Palace. Terry, IN

9/08 - We loved this place and will return here on every trip to Mexico from here on out. The place was outstanding, gourgeous, and breathtaking. The service was wonderful and we were treated like royalty. They lived to meet all of our expectations. The outside of this Palace is beautiful and full of nature. You are catered everywhere you go from your room, to the pool, even the beach. This was the most amazing experience I have ever had. If you are planning to go to Mexico and have a perfect vacation, this is the place for you. This place caters to all ages and races and really does make you feel as you are royalty. KM, NY

7/08 We just came back from a four-day vacation at Cancun Palace and I have to say that I had a great time and have absolutely nothing to complain about. The service is wonderful and everything is plentiful. Everything is the highest quality: food, towels, sheets, drinks, service. The bedding was beautiful and comfortable, the pillows were perfect. The food was abundant and excellent. The room was very nice with a hot tub in it. It seems like a waste of space to me, but I guess some people like it. The maid came in twice a day. The mini-fridge was always stocked with soft drinks and there was a coffee machine and plenty of bottled water. The hotel soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion were great, Biosilk, Colgate toothbrushes and toothpaste was provided, as well as sewing kit and bathrobes, so no need to bring your own. The service was great and everybody speaks ok English. The pool was cleanand has two swim up bars. There were waitresses walking around taking drink orders from people lounging around the pool and the beach. I saw the maids at night cleaning the beach chairs by the pool. The beach towels were snow white, very fluffy, great quality, and you could change them as many times during the day as you wanted and they never ran out. I thought that the food was excellent. The steaks were great, fresh seafood and lots of shrimp, the grouper was amazing, and there was also plenty of junk food like bacon and burgers to satisfy any taste. The oriental restaurant was great, the sushi was a little different from what you get in the US. There were all kinds of Asian food from Chinese to Japanese to Thai. The food at the Italian restaurant was a bit too loaded with butter to my taste, but some people like it that way. You don't need a reservation for a la carte dinners. The grill was amazing, but so was the buffet. We had dinner at the buffet a few times and it was just as good as the restaurants. You can eat inside and outside, lots of options. They had a nice entertainment theater with a big stage and stadium seating. The shows were good. If you want to go out to the clubs at night the entertainment staff takes the hotel guests to a different club every night. The beach is not that big. I was not bothered by the condo presentation sales people at all, actually I kind of wanted to hear more about how much the timeshare is, but we did not have the time to spend at the presentation. Overall, I though Cancun Palace was a great hotel to stay at. Would I go back? Probably not, because I did not care for Cancun. I thought the waters were too rough to swim, the beach is not big enough, I am more of a resort than a hotel kind of person. But if you prefer lounging by the pool rather than on the beach, this place is great, clean and spacious. It is a good place for couples and families with children that for singles. Jeff, MO

7/08 We stayed at Cancun Palace in July. We were very excited to see the new property because we had stayed there a few years ago before the hurricanes. Check in went well, the rooms were very nice, although the jacuzzi is so large, it does crowd the room. Rollaways would be impossible in these rooms. The bathrooms are wonderful, showers big enough for half a dozen people. The hallways are loud, doors slamming at all hours. The pool is very nice, although not what I would consider to be a large pool. The two swim up bars were very crowded with lines to get a drink. The pool often looked cloudy and not clean and it was crowded. Chairs were "reserved" at the crack of dawn. Since it was July we spent most of our time in the pool so the chair issue was not a big one for us. We took a cab to Moon Palace one day. The food at Moon Palace was so much better than Cancun Palace. The pool was not as crowded and much larger. My overall opinion of this hotel is that it is a nice place if you have young children since the pool is manageable. There are a lot of steps to get back and forth. It is not a place I would recommend if you are looking to go for relaxation and good food. If you want to party and don't mind a crowded pool, this is a good choice. Bob, Michigan

3/10/08- This was our 3rd year in a row staying at Cancun Palace. I promised to never return last year but was sent a three day voucher to try and compensate from a catastrophe in 2007. The resort is very beautiful and we were VERY happy with their Kids Club program. The food was the same old boring buffet from the previous years but again the oriental restaurant was fabulous!! The facility appears to be 95% functioning after the hurricane damage, only small cosmetic repairs taking place, nothing distracting. The pools seemed cleaner, the staff was friendly and the room and maid service was much better than last year. The entertainment wasn't the greatest, but the Magic Show is a must see. The kids club did a fabulous job hosting the daily activities and my daughter and son absolutely loved it.
Unfortunatley there was no beach due to a storm in the Gulf so it was almost impossible to even walk in front of the resort a couple of the days. Some resorts didn't even allow their guests on the beach at all because of the dangerous conditions. They say that in time the sandy beach will return.
The resort was VERY busy so it was tough a few times getting a drink by the pool because of the crowd, but I'm sure all the resorts suffer with this from time to time so it wasn't a big deal. We didn't have any problems getting chairs, but we were up at sunrise. If you sleep in, you might have a problem finding two chairs together anywhere.
They do provide transportation to Moon Palace now and we always enjoy Wet N Wild but prefer to take the city bus and return when we feel like it. The entrance fee is included if you stay at a Palace resort, but the tubes and lockers are additional so bring money.
We enjoyed Isla Mujeres, but chose not to use the trip thru the resort. We took a ferry and again went on our own time, did our own thing, and enjoyed it much more than last year (taking their private trip).
Overall, the resort has definitely improved and I have a much better opinion this year. I suggest doing your research on other fun activities outside the resort to spice things up and bring LOTS of sunscreen/tanning oils. We went through three bottles between four of us and it is NOT cheap in Mexico. Cindy, Michigan

2/-08 Ben - This was my first time to Cancun.  This resort made me want to go back again.  The staff was very friendly.  You never felt like someone was begging for a tip.  The food was pretty good.  Especially at the "Las Golondrinas" restaurant.  The breakfast was awesome at "El Mercado".  The drinks were great.  The swim-up bar was just the coolest.  We were on our Honeymoon and were treated wonderfully.  We had a superior room with Jacuzzi.   I will take the jacuzzi any day.  The room was always clean as was the entire resort.  The gift shop had anything you wanted and was pretty cheap.  The exchange rate was good at the hotel.  I read a couple of "travel tips" before we arrived in Cancun.  It said to exchange money at the airport not the hotel.  WRONG!!  The airport ripped me off.  Rate was alot better at the resort.  I definately recommend the Cancun Palace.

12/07 - Mark, TN The only thing that went wrong in our vacation to the Cancun Palace was our return flight was delayed. We had to stay an extra night in an upgraded suite!! We were hoping for a more delays. : )

My husband and I are 40ish. Our son was with us also. He was 14. We are planning this year's vacations and we asked our son what he would like to do. He wants to go back to Cancun and stay at the Cancun Palace.

Food, cleanliness, all services, all staff, bars, views... every single aspect of this facility was absolutely wonderful. The staff will ask if you speak Spanish. We don't. They would switch right over to English. We had fun all week learning bits of the Spanish language.

The best foods I have ever enjoyed on a vacation. It makes cruise ship food look like a fast food chain. Most enjoyable is dinner. I loved eating out on the patio, overlooking the beach area and having such a good selection of food. Grilled steak, shrimp, ribs, chicken, a couple of nights lobster! We got more than our money's worth in food and beverages.

Food and bar locations are convenient no matter what area of the resort you are on.

The 8 days we were there we did not have a single bad experience. I don't want to risk staying anywhere else. I can't imagine anywhere being better.

4/07 - CP - Michigan Our family of 4 stayed at the Cancun Palace during spring break. Loved being in town where you could go to shops and restaurants, not that you need to go anywhere else to eat since the food was excellent at the resort. The beach was the best. The kids loved playing in the waves and riding boogie boards. The pool was nice and big, but kind of crowded. I don't think everything was up to par yet after the hurricane repairs. There are plenty of chairs and places to eat and drink. Nice snacks by the beach. The included tours are very nice since they are free, some are long though. I loved sitting on the balcony and watching the sunrise. I can't wait to go back next year.
