Coral Princess Hotel & Resort
Cozumel Cozumel, Mexico Resort Reviews

Iberostar Cozumel, Mexico

This gorgeous resort is perfect for those seeking superior accommodations in a smaller more intimate setting. The decor is beautifully appointed with artistic touches. Enjoy the cozy lobby bar and small restaurant. A pool fronts the ocean on a platform with slipway into the crystal clear Caribbean.

6/08 My wife and 2 children (ages 9 & 13 ) stayed at the Coral Princessin June. The hotel is basic and clean, not far from town but probably too far to walk. We rented a jeep to explore the island which can be done in one day. The staff were fine and the pool ok. We had a breakfast delivered to our room and it was great. Hotel is on a quiet stretch-really this whole island is quiet. Suggest eating lunch at Coconuts on the Cliff in Chen Rio if you rent a car or scooter and absolutely go to Poncho's Backyard for an excellent dinner. Food is excellent, not too expensive and the wait staff are great-they really love kids here. On the same premises is an excellent souvenier shop, Los Cinco Soles that is clean with excellent sales staff-you can get everything Mexican here, both high and low end. Both places are close to hotel and ferry terminal and very easy to find. You can walk along the water to town in the evening and shop when it cools down and the cruise ship crowds leave. If you want to go to a decent beach and you have a car/scooter, you can try the San Francisco beach club. It is free to lay on sand but it costs for chair or umbrella rental. The Coral Princess is a basic, inexpensive hotel. Although this place is known for its snorkeling, you will only see a few fish that seem to live here. Staff said snorkeling was much better prior to the hurricane. The water and visability are excellent, just not much to see. Nice place to stay. KS, NY

6/08 Coral Princess is a small quiet hotel with alot of charm. We stayed for a long weekend at a bargain price and great air conditioning! I did not have an ocean view room but that was fine with me as I did not spend much time in there. The price includes a nice breakfast as well. This was the first time I stayed someplace with a manmade beach but it was fine. The Hotel is built on a small cliff and they have made some stairs down to the ocean so you can snorkel right there ( you can check out gear for no charge)! The pool is small but ample for the size of the hotel. They have a full service swim up bar. This is a place worth trying. I know I will return in the future. Above average hotel with excellent service! JS, WI

5/08 We had a very warm welcme at the Coral Princess with smiles and a welcome drink. Check In went very smoothly. Our first impression of our room was very pleasant. There was a faint smell of fresh paint. The bed was very comfortable and not hard like we were expecting. Our view from our 8th floor balcony was breathtaking! The snorkeling from the hotel is the best!!!!!! We saw eels, sting rays, lobsters, baby octupus and so many colorful fish. One day there were a few dolphins that showed up near the hotel. We had the meal plan and had to order from the "room service" menu which wasn't too bad. I recommend their steak, American breakfast, any of their pastries, and the coconut ice cream. The drinks were pricey and the best was from Isodor the bartender ( he was the BEST) Look for the iguanas near the restaurant terrace. This hotel was very clean. You will notice even the small details.

OK now for the negatives..... they pay change in pesos. Watch the restaurant doors they will get you. The timeshare people are not too bad, but persistant. They will leave you alone with a firm no but then they are not as friendly. We had to put down a $100 deposit for a key and lock to the room safe and a $20 deposit for a beach towel. The hallways are very loud especially near the elevators. Overall, this was a great hotel and I would recommend it to anyone.

April, 2008-We have stayed at the Coral Princess in Cozumel for many years and really enjoy it. A few things to note are that there are two pools (which are not very large) and the beach does not gradually go into the ocean-it is 20 feet deep right off the wall but great for snorkeling. The rooms are really nice-especially the ocean view (we usually stay in a 1 bedroom villa with kitchen and living area and they are all ocean view). Half of the hotel is used as a timeshare so anyone that is a non-member will probably be approached to hear a  presentation with a free something or other (like a Jeep rental) for listening. J.B.

1/08 Coral Princess is a good resort if you get a super deal! The rooms are older but very clean. The restaurant is average at best. The pool is one of the smallest I have seen at a resort, and the water was freezing! There is NO night life. The snorkeling is some of the best on the island. Resort not good for little kids. There are stairs that you jump off of to get into the water and the water is 18 ft. deep. The dive shop is excellent and do a good job.
